OGI PowerMap Tools
What they are and how to use them.
From left to right.

Pan Tool - use this tool to push and pull map in any direction.
Zoom to Rectangle - use this tool to zoom in on a specific area. Zoom in by clicking close to where you want to go, drag diagonally to create a rectangle over area of interest. The smaller the rectangle the closer you will zoom in. The larger the rectangle the less you will zoom in.
Zoom In - use this tool to zoom in to a desired location by clicking on top of an area of interest. This tool zooms in incrementally and corresponds with dragable zoom bar in upper right area of map. See sliding zoom bar description below.
Zoom Out - Use this tool to zoom out from a desired location by clicking on top of an area of interest. This tool zooms out incrementally and corresponds with dragable zoom bar in upper right area of map. See sliding zoom bar description below.
Initial Map View - Click this tool to zoom out to original view. In this view you should be able to see Texas, Louisiana and Gulf of Mexico offshore grid.
Previous Map View - Click on this tool to go directly to the last map view your browser loaded.
Next Map View - Click on this tool to go directly to the last map view your browser loaded before using the Previous Map View tool.
Refresh View - Click on this tool to reload page.
Select Mode - Use this tool by placing over area of interest, click tool to display respective attributes.
Clear Selection - Click on this tool to turn off current selection.
Measure - Use this tool to create and measure a line segment.
Get Printable Page - Use this tool to create a screen shot of map view within a new browser window in a printable composited format.
Plot to .dwf - Use this tool to plot to .dwf (AutoDesk vector-based file)format allowing you to save and email map areas of interest. This format maintains the layer and object attributes that make OGI PowerMap so valuable. For help creating creating a .dwf file click here.
Frame Control drop down-tools - Use these two tools from a single drop-down to make disappear and reappear the Layers/Attributes frame (on left) and the Task Frame (on right). These tools can maximize your monitor's size so you can view the most map possible.
Task Frame - The drop-down task list enables PowerMap user to access and customize a visual search using a Buffer filter feature, a Query tool that help users search by wells or parcels, on a selected layer, using a property filter with many attributes and a spatial filter for rectangles, polygons or clear spots.
Layers Frame - This collapsible frame contains many helpful layers you can control, such as; wells and pipelines, DPUs(designated Pooled Units), abstracts and surveys, Flood plains, 10m DEMS(topographic lines), offshore, Louisiana and aerials. This frame isalso where selection information is displayed.
Selection Tools drop down-tools - Use these tools to select exact object by polygon or radius.
Search Tools drop down-tools - Use this tool to search for abstracts.
Coordinates Tools drop down-tools - Use this tool to search for exact point.

Task Frame - Task Frame - The drop-down task list enables PowerMap user to access and customize a visual search using a Buffer filter feature, a Query tool that help users search by wells or parcels, on a selected layer, using a property filter with many attributes and a spatial filter for rectangles, polygons or clear spots.
Return to Home task Page - Click on this tool to return to original task page view.
Return to previous task Page - Click on this tool to retirn to last task page view.
Forward to next task Page - Click on this tool to retirn to last task page view.
Task List - Click on this tool to drop and activate Task Frame.
Buffer - This drop-down task enables PowerMap user to access and customize a visual search using a concentric land area buffer filter feature.
Query - This drop-down task enables PowerMap user to search by wells or parcels, on a selected layer, using a property filter with many attributes and a spatial filter for rectangles, polygons or clear spots.
Theme - This drop-down task enables PowerMap user to customize how there task interface appears.

OGI PowerMap won't open. What do I do?
To view OGI PowerMap you need to have the active x control downloaded and running. Active X Control is Flash (swf) Player Plug in. Click Here to got to Adobe site for free download.
How do I find a specific well?
You can search by all attributes, including API number. Click on Task Icon to open Task Frame (in right column). Click on task list icon to show drop down menu including; buffer, query and theme. Click on query to display full search interface. Click on the well button and select the well layer desired (surface active & inactive; bottom active & inactive). The output property should be the same as the property. In the drop down property field, choose an attribute (including the API number) to search by. In the value field enter the appropriate information based on search attribute. Select the desired API number and click “Zoom”. The general location of the well will be displayed. Click on Select to highlight specific well location.
How do I find well data?
Once you have located the well, simply mouse-over the well and the associated attributes will be displayed.
How do I zoom?
You can zoom in and out by clicking on the (+ and - ) magnifying glasses, using the zoom bar in the upper right-hand side of the map window, or by using your mouse scroll wheel. You can also draw a box around a zoom area with the zoom window tool.
How do I find a specific abstract in a specific county?
You can search by abstract by clicking abstract search in the search tools drop down, selecting the county from the drop down box and inputting the abstract number. Select the abstract and click zoom.
How do I print from OGI PowerMap?
You can get a printable page from your browser by clicking on the printer icon. This is the quickest, easiest method to get a printed image. For a higher quality, zoom enabled plot, you will need to create a DWF in the print drop down bar. If you do not have a DWF viewer installed, Click here for free download.
