These requests can be sent to OGI via email or fax and can generally be completed that same day or even within hours. Plat tract requests are the most common amongst our clients and it is here where our experience and efficiency can greatly benefit a firm needing both speed and accuracy. Platting tedious metes and bounds, using aerial georectification to insure accuracy is one of the many skills at which the GIS mapping team excels. OGI's involvement is always based on meeting the clients' needs. If a customer has their own GIS department, and plats acquired leases and competition layers on an ongoing basis, then OGI would simply facilitate a process in which these updates are loaded and distributed throughout the enterprise. This information can be utilized to generate digital maps on-line from an office or from anywhere that Internet access is available. Our GIS programmers and designers can produce multi-layered digital maps that display county, survey and abstract lines, waterways, roads, cultural landmarks, pipelines, and oil and gas wells for the Gulf Coast States (i.e. Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida), Oklahoma, and the Gulf of Mexico. For each inquiry, data can be displayed showing longitude and latitude, the API #, operator name and contact information, lease name, field designation, permit date, completion date, completion information, production data and leasehold ownership. OGI provides true GIS data that can be loaded into any GIS software package or can be loaded on our own OGInfoMap to view, edit and add tracts and their associated attributes. All of our data is “pre processed” so there’s no guessing about coordinate systems or projections. All files delivered to the client are ready for use and they are all in a single coordinate system of your choice.

OGI has lowered the cost of ownership of both the data and software making entry into this field an attainable goal, whether on the individual level or on the organizational level.  When reviewing our available data, please keep in mind that many counties have just entered the world of GIS over the last several years and have yet to connect 100% of their tracts to their associated tax role line item.  Therefore we have graded our data based on its completeness. Our grades are A for complete, B for partially complete, and C for near incomplete. 

Additional Services

OGI can scan all lease information with high-speed scanners and then attach the scanned images to the maps for quick reference. These lease packages most often contain Lease Purchase Reports, leases, chains of title, and a tax assessor's plat. These scanned images are then linked to the map and accessed by simply clicking on the desired tract. This service eliminates having to search through boxes or cabinets of files to solve one small or large issue. OGI can link any database to a customer's map including Microsoft Excel, Access, etc. These links are needed for quick reference to lease and unit information. OGI is capable of managing mineral ownership for large companies showing their ownership in multiple states. The process includes scanning deeds and attaching them to the map which provides an ongoing history and continuation of updating. This allows companies to always know their exact mineral position with a field or certain play. The benefit of this is not only the management of the minerals but the ability to provide a professional computer generated map. When making decisions, accuracy is crucial.
