We know that data security is paramount to your organization's success; therefore, deployment of this map is controlled in-house. OGI has built-in, customizable, multi-tiered user administration and monitoring.  Our clients have the ability to turn on, turn off, and/or monitor access from their own desktops.  IP log assists in keeping data confidential.  Clients can have multiple prospects loaded with settings that allow access to all in-house landmen but limits access to one prospect for a particular brokerage firm or individual landman.

OGI’s free desktop GIS software program provides our users with low cost of ownership and the ability to start mapping immediately using our data.  OGI gathers GIS data from multiple sources then reformats, joins and messages the data so our users experience a consistent look and feel. Our GIS mapping software can also be integrated with our lease management software (LAVA) as a tool for easy lease, memo, LPR, draft, rider and exhibit creation along with acreage and draft totals.  This module works with the same tiered user administration hierarchy so an administrator or crew-chief can upload company approved leases, memos, LPRs, riders and exhibits.  Managers can easily tract prospect progress, gross/net acres acquired, gross/net acres committed or view the results of an ongoing lease check on a minute by minute basis.  LAVA provides up to the minute collaboration between field and in-house managers and cuts down on the lifecycle of critical decision making.

OGInfo.com has recently created the parcel/oil gas lease map sets for Texas RRC Districts 1, 2 & 4 (covering all of South Texas and the Valley) along with 60 other Texas counties. Currently, nearly 100 parcel/oil gas lease map sets are available to users. These are available in tiff, hard copy, or vectorized GIS data formats. We are adding new counties to our digital library each day, so check back often!

OGI provides true GIS data that can be loaded into any GIS software package or can be loaded on our own (OGInfoMap) to view, edit, add tracts and their associated attributes. All of our data is "pre-processed" so there's no guessing about coordinate systems or projections. All files delivered to the client are ready for use and are all in the coordinate system of your choice. OGI has lowered the cost of ownership of both the data and software making entry into this field an attainable goal, whether on the individual level or the organizational level. When reviewing our available data please keep in mind that many counties have just entered the world of GIS over the last several years and have yet to connect 100% of their tracts to their associated tax role line item. Therefore we have graded our data based on its completeness. Our grades are A for complete, B for partially complete and C for near incomplete.

LAVA 2.0 - Custom Lead/Lease Management Component

Lease Aquisition Visualization Application (LAVA) is a simple yet powerful tool created to integrate with our online maps and is used to track the progress of a particular prospect, whether in the initial lease check phase or competitive leasing phase.  Brokers enter current leases in the lease check phase and they system automatically tracts these leases using a color coded system that alerts users of expiring leases based on a color code.  Even if a lease check is entered one year and reviewed the next, LLM keeps track of what’s still under lease, what kickers need to be called on, what’s expired, and what’s ready to lease or possibly top-lease.  We call it a “lease check with a heartbeat”.

Based on the data entered for the lease check, a broker can quickly and easily create all of the documents needed to lease or top-lease a particular tract with speed and ease.

A picture is worth a thousand words, so OGI is working very hard towards displaying all of our data based on client input.  If a rig is on location we want a rig on the map.  If a permit has been filed but is ageing out we want to graphically show that.  If the rig has moved off and the well hasn't been completed or tested, we want to show that as well, you get the picture.

OGI owns half of a very successful joint venture called Vasurya, LTD., based in Hyderabad, India where we have 36 full time GIS Professionals on staff along with a number of managers and IT professionals.  In conjunction with our domestic GIS operation, this overseas infrastructure allows us to take on the largest of GIS projects with ease and considerable cost effectiveness.  We can quickly and easily plat hundreds or even thousands of the most complex metes and bounds descriptions or quarter/quarter calls in a few days. This team also specializes in “raster to vector” (paper to digital) conversions, whereby we start with a paper map, scan it on our large format scanner (54 inch) then georectify it under the survey layer and aerials to assist in creating an exact replica in the digital format.

OGI can scan all lease information with high-speed scanners and then attach the scanned images to the maps for quick reference. These lease packages most often contain Lease Purchase Reports, leases, chains of title, and a tax assessor's plat. These scanned images are then linked to the map and accessed by simply clicking on the desired tract. This service eliminates having to search through boxes or cabinets of files to solve one small or large issue. OGI can link any database to a customer's map including Microsoft Excel, Access, etc. These links are needed for quick reference to lease and unit information.

OGI is highly capable of managing mineral ownership for large companies showing their ownership in multiple states. The process includes scanning deeds and attaching them to the map which provides an ongoing history and continuation of updating. This allows companies to always know their exact mineral position with a field or certain play. The benefit of this is not only the management of the minerals but the ability to provide a professional computer generated map. When making decisions, accuracy is crucial.
